Dear Prof. Susan Garreis
Hello
Thank you for your reply and your corrections.

Thank you for the explanation.
-> You are welcome!

Yes. But time will improve the health care in Vietnam, I hope.
-> Thank you. I hope, too.
It will not only be in Vietnam; it will be all over the world.

Here is an article about nuns in general: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nun. They are women who have dedicated their lives to a deep practice of their religion. They usually engage in some special service to society, such as teaching, nursing, working with the poor. My aunt was a nurse.
-> Thank you for the explanation. In Vietnam, there are a few people, who follow this religion. I had not been talking to them yet.

I have never drunk lotus tea. It sounds delicious!
-> Lotus tea was very good!

This week I am at my daughter's house in Delaware. She had surgery on her right arm. She had carpal tunnel, so it was painful to use her hand when she typed. I am here to help her with things that require two hands. She cannot drive right now, so I drove her to the surgery center and back. I did some errands for her after she got home.
-> Please tell her I say hello.
> I did. She said thanks.

I wish her a speedy recovery.
> Thank you very much for your good wishes. I texted her on the phone while I am writing this response. She said thanks for the good wishes.

We baked banana nut muffins tonight. They are delicious! It is hard to stir batter with one hand. Here is a link with a picture of the muffins:
-> I think if you can stir batter with two hands, you do not have carpal tunnel, do you?
> That is correct. I don't have carpal tunnel because I have not keyboarded as much as she as. My sister also had carpal tunnel, but she has keyboarded for the last thirty years. Stirring batter is a two-handed job. One hand stirs with the spoon while the other holds the bowl still. It requires some force being applied with both wrists.

-> Thank you for your link. It looks delicious.
> Oh, my goodness! They did taste delicious!

She returns to school until December. It has been fun to see her for a few days.
-> Currently, I still single and I should not imagine what feeling like, but it seems to be very happy. ^^
> It is a happy thing to see family members that you love.

I love to drive to West Virginia. It is fall and the colors are beautiful, especially in West Virginia.
-> I guess that is what you meant to say.

> Absolutely! We did not see any old barns, but the trees were lovely.

Where is your favorite Japanese or Vietnamese place to visit in the fall?
-> Fall in Japan is seem to West Virginia. It is red leaf season. It would be very nice if you travel to Kyoto or Nikko...

What is your favorite time of year in Vietnam? Why?
-> I love spring. This time is Vietnam’s New Year, that call “Tet”.

> It looks like a time for food, family and fireworks. The parades must be spectacular. I guess you are too old to receive the red envelopes from your elders now. Do you remember receiving them as a child?

With best wishes
Nguyen Hung Thien

Attached is the next lesson: # 13 Technology 2014.docx
We talk about selected aspects of technology today.
Fall is here. The trees change color. I love this time of year!
The weather is cooler. It is sixty degrees Fahrenheit (fifteen degrees Celsius) in the daytime. Tonight it will be 36 degrees Fahrenheit (two degrees Celsius)!
That is chilly. I will sleep inside tonight. When the night temperature is fifty degrees Fahrenheit (ten degrees Celsius) I like to sleep on my enclosed porch.
I am not a tough person. So I bundle up in blankets until only my face shows. One of my cats likes to sleep out there with me, at my feet. He loves the outdoors.
I love the sounds of the night. I like to see the stars and the moon. I can hear the sound of trucks driving on a main road not too far away from the house. At night the sound travels easily. It is not noticeable in the daytime, even though traffic is much heavier. Finally, I love waking up to the sound of birds, even if I hear the alarm first.
Have you ever gone camping? (sleeping outside in a tent)
